PAINTING & DECORATING WORKSHOPS

Hands on, empowering training for beginners and diy’ers wanting to develop the skill to achieve professional results in order to transform their home.

In one day you will learn:

• How to plan/order of work.
• Preparation of room, including protection.
• How to prepare and repair different surfaces/substrates.
• How to choose which materials are needed for different substrates, ie. new plaster, bare or painted timber, masonry etc.
• Which tools to use for each job.
• How to skilfully apply paints and primers.
• Clean up of tools and equipment.
• Basic drill skills.
• The order in which the work needs to be done;
• The materials and tools required;
• The amount of materials required.

Option to purchase professional, high quality basic kit, supplied by Brewers Decorating Centre, at a 30% discount.

Cost of the 1 day course includes 3 follow up phone calls should you get stuck when putting your skills into practice on your project.

Also includes discounted prices for materials, through my account at Brewers Decorating Centres plus free delivery.

For an extra cost of £100, you can book me in to come to your property for 3 hours for 1-1 tuition.

I have been decorating and building furniture for over 30 years, from small cosmetic jobs to the renovation of whole houses. I offer a friendly, reliable and affordable service to a high professional standard.

Previous projects have included: sprucing up a buy-to-let property; freshening up tired kitchen units; complete re-decoration to a high-end finish of a 3 storey home, interior and exterior; project management of a large, detached house in London from a concrete shell, overseeing teams of craftsmen and builders; replacing broken hinges on kitchen cabinets; painting a garden shed; fixing a large hole in a plasterboard wall; re-decoration of a 1 bedroom flat; making and painting garden planters; designing, making and installing two double sized fitted wardrobes; making and installing ‘floating’ shelving in an alcove; painting an industrial unit for a beer bottling company; constructing several items of flat-pack furniture; floor sanding; hanging pictures; refurbishing much loved but tired pieces of furniture. I can also undertake small to medium carpentry jobs as well as basic maintenance around your home or office.
